About us
The Office of the City Veterinarian was founded on January 1993 pursuant to R.A. No. 7160 of the local government code of 1991. It is headed by the City Veterinarian Dr. Al G. Gonzales since inception up to present.
MANDATE
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7160, the Office of the City Veterinarian is mandated to perform the following tasks:
- Regulate the keeping of domestic animals;
- Regulate and inspect poultry, milk and dairy products for public consumption;
- Enforce all laws and regulations for the prevention of cruelty to animals;
- Take the necessary measures to eradicate, prevent or cure all forms of animal diseases.

Enhancement of animal productivity through the delivery of appropriate animal production technologies and promotion of responsible pet ownership.

Ecologically-friendly, climate-change adaptive, sustainable, flourishing animal industry and responsible animal keeping that values animal welfare and supports public health and safety.
