brief history of peso - gingoog city
The establishment of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Gingoog City dates back to 1992 when it was created in response to a directive from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to establish an employment promotion arm for local government units.
Initially staffed by a PESO Manager – Designate and a support staff member, the office primarily focused on implementing the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), previously known as the Presidential Summer Youth Program.
